Abstract :

The concept of Time and Space has been a topic of debate for hundreds of years among philosophers, but since the last century, the physicists are more interested in this issue especially after the emergence of Quantum physics. On the other hand, most of religion, more specifically Islam, declared God as eternal and the everlasting existence which is beyond or either outside the time and space. In the past centuries It was of course very difficult to perceive the idea of being timeless and infinite, as we live in physical realm and we experience things through our senses which are directly subjected to the limitations of materialistic nature and four dimensions. But today, this doctrine is more comprehensible and easier to grasp because of modern physics. A lot of researches have shaded a tremendous light and completely altered the past ideas about absolute time and space. In this article, we shall examine how the notion of an eternal and infinite being relates to the modern ideas of Time and space. Moreover, we will explore the ideas of time and space in major religions of the world with regard to Almighty being

And the opinion of the expert in the relevant field is based on these verses. Therefore, not every person or people working in law enforcement agencies are aware of them and the opinion of experts in this regard is sought. In cases where there is a lack of witnesses and evidence, experts in the field of crime give opinions on the basis of evidence and signs, and are usually judged on the basis of Islamic law. Abstract :

Joseph Schacht is the most prominent figure among those Orientalists, who have studied Islamic literature in detail. Schacht have also written many books on that topic. He also presented several theories to proof authenticity of hadith. Among those theories, ‘common link theory’ and ‘family isnad theory’ received significant importance in modern western world. He claims that, many hadith writers have very carefully prepared false isnad and they have attributed/assigned those isnad towards prophets. In this regard, he presented the credible and robust certification of Muwatta Imam Malik as an example and tried to prove that because of such isnad, false Schacht’s hadith have been attributed/assigned towards prophets. In this article, we will discuss the reality of Schacht’s common link theory and the objections made on Muwatta Imam Malik due to Schacht’s theory

Author(s):Dr.Adnan Ahmad/Qazi Yasir Arafat

Abstract :

Keeping in view the unique structure of corporate governance (CG) of Islamic Banks (IBs), this study investigates the effects of Islamic CG on the performance of IBs of Pakistan before and during the global financial crisis (GFC) of 2007-08. Specifically, the study investigates the performance of Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB), Board of Directors (BOD) and Ownership Concentration (OC). The sample consists of all the IBs from Pakistan for the period 2003-2016. The results of the study report a positive impact of the size of Sharia Supervisory Board on the performance of Islamic Banks. While GFC has a marginal negative effect on return on assets (ROA) of these banks, however, this effect becomes irrelevant by adding more CG variables such as Ownership concentration. The study in addition to contributing towards a theory of Islamic Corporate Governance, also contributes to the literature regarding the effects of GFC on IBs in Pakistan. Due to the scarcity of literature on CG of IBs in Pakistan, this study also contributes to the CG literature and its effects on IBs

Author(s):Muhammad Shafiq/Jamil Ahmad

Hence like all other religions and cultures, Islam has also produced different scholars and intellectuals, in due process, who tried to answer the questions and come up with the solutions to the challenges posed to it in particular times. Sardar, one of the outspoken contemporary Muslim intellectuals, tried to redefine Islam in the context of postmodernism. His understanding of postmodernism is that ‘it’s a new kind of imperialism of western culture’. He considers it to be a new way of crushing the hopes and aspirations of people, and calls it a ‘linear progression and a natural conclusion to modernity’ it is a new way west has come up with to avoid resistance modernity faced by Islam, so criticising it severely as incompatible and hostile towards Islam

Author(s):Dr. Javaria Raza/Dr. Hazir Ullah

Abstract :

The last four decades have witnessed a rapid increase in female Madaris in Pakistan. This paper examines whether these Madaris empower young women or buttress gender relations and male hegemony. This paper, based on qualitative interviews with Muhtamims, teachers and female students in ten female Madaris of Deobandi sect in two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, argues that female Madaris are among the several institutional mechanisms through which gender relations are legitimized and women are taught to accept a male dominated culture, its legitimacy, and their subordination to it and in it. It further asserts that these Madaris construct young women as gendered human who position themselves as inferior to men and thus contribute to the perpetuation of male hegemony. The paper suggests that independent female Madaris with female Mohtameem and female teaches will make Madaris as powerful spaces that will enable young women to negotiate the existing gender relations in the light of religious injunctions interpreted from women’s perspective
