Abstract :
Al-Qur’┐n al-Kar┘m was revealed in the language of Arabs in vogue at the time of its revelation. It is almost mandatory to know the standard langauge, phrases, proverbs, metaphors, similes of the Arabic langauge for a clear understanding of the Qur’┐n. It is why special attention was given to the study of ancient poetic composition of Arabs in this regard in the earlier centuries. So, the Arabs ancient literary endeavors are of much importance with reference to the study of the Qur’┐n. In the classical period, most of the Qur’┐n’s exegests would pay attention to this aspect and would use pre-Islamic poetry in their works for determination/citation of meanings of Ghar┘b al-Qur’┐n especialy. There are various fields of citation from pre-Islamic poetry. Abstract :
Im┐m Mu╒ammad b. Sa’d al-Baghd┐di (168-230 AH) is famous as an expert of the science of rij┐l (transmitters of ╒ad┘th), geneology (ans┐b) and Islamic history. Of special significance is his monumental biographical dictionary al-║abaq┐t al-Kubr┐ which contains information about life of the Prophet (PBUH), his copmanions (the ╖a╒┐ba) and the generation after them (the t┐bi’┴n). One of the prominent features of this work is that it mentions chains of authorities for each recorded narration. This enables the reader to judge for himself the authenticity or otherwise of a particular narration by determining the trustworthiness of the narrators mentioned in the chain (sanad). Abstract :
One of the well-known juristic principles in Islam is that a Muslim woman cannot marry a non-Muslim man. The question arises: if both were non-Muslims and she becomes a Muslim while her husband does not, then would her marital relations with her husband remain intact or would her marriage be dissolved? Abstract :
Deliverance from earthly persecutions and subjections through sporadic heavenly intervention has been a psycho-religious element of Jewish mind and history. During Greeks and Roman subjections Jews developed the science of Eschatology and apocalyptic literature which denotes the “End of Days” and the gathering of all nations in the home of the God of Jacob as prophesied by prophet Isiah & Micha. A Charismatic person will make chosen people free from world oppressions and reinstate their lost sovereignty over the world. Such dominion is referred back to a symbolic vision of Prophet Daniel seeing a man descending down on heavenly cloud and being conferred an everlasting Dominion by a white-haired, fiery-throned, aged and “Ancient of Days” person with a radiating face. Later on such symbolic vision led to the doctrine of Messiah and Messianic kingdom in Jewish history along with all its theological, philosophical and spiritual adjuncts. The polygon-Jewish doctrine of Messiah that three millennia is too vast and enormous be rightly penetrated and accommodated in a summed up study. Abstract :
Intellectual deviation is one of the major threats to Muslim society and security. The present paper explores various dimensions of this issue both at individual and societal levels. The study pin points five key causes that lead to this phenomenon, i.e. following one’s unjustified desires, considering one’s self as the sole scholar and criticizing all others, extremism in religion, bad company and cruelty. Abstract On the assumption of modeling & mutual learning, the article sets out to studying the curriculums of translation at Master level in various Western universities. The focus is on UK universities because they offer better model/s for countries where the discipline of translation is a relatively new venture, especially the Arab & Islamic countries. Poetry represents the inner feelings of humans and it reaches to its culmination with the purity and severity in feelings which results in creation of the finest literature. At the other hand, loyalty and loving the homeland is embedded in human nature, which appears in more serious manner when a man is located far away from his motherland . Arabic is our religious language while Urdu is the national one. In the current paper, the patriotism has been analyzed in the both Arabic and Urdu poetry with the examples. The topic on man and nature has always been discussed over the centuries and has earned the attention of many scholars of diverse fields of specializations. As an appreciation to the great contribution of nature to human survival, some have equated it to God. Since the two are synonymous to them, so they worship nature alongside God. The fuqah┐ have derived a detailed version of jus in Bello (conduct of hostilities) from the teachings of the Prophet (peace be on him) and his rightly guided Caliphs. This code of conduct is obligatory upon Muslims no matter the other party is obeying this conduct or not. In Islam, peace and tranquility are the most basic and fundamental attributes of life in this universe. War is permissible only in self-defense and in circumstances where all peaceful options are exhausted. Legal maxims are an imperative contrivance to comprehend the nature and objectives of the Shari‘ah. Legal maxims (al-qaw┐‘id al-fiqhiyya) are theoretical abstractions, usually in the form of short epithetical statements, that are expressive, often in a few words, of the goals and objectives of the Shar┘‘ah. Ijtih┐d means derivation of legal rules and principles from the detailed sources of Islamic law. Among many other conditions for being entitled to exercise ijtihad, a firm command on Islamic legal maxims is one of the basic requirements. These qaw┐’id are used by the contemporary jurists for supporting their preferred legal rulings (ikhtiy┐r┐t fiqhiyya) on certain matters. This paper attempts to outline the Qur’┐nic concept of the long term fate of the universe in comparison to the theoretical scientific explanations. The ultimate cease of the universe and its contents is a matter of fundamental scientific and philosophical importance. Various hypotheses about the ultimate cease of our universe have been suggested. Some of the most important possibilities which intimates the fate of our universe are Big Crunch, Big Rip, Big Freeze and more recently by Higgs boson, sometimes referred to as the "God Particle” etc. All these possibilities suggest that finally the universe expansion will destroy all the celestial bodies or this accelerating universe could expand into an endless vacuum.The Qur'┐n does not depict interconnected description of the ultimate fate of the universe. There are verses dispersed throughout Qur’┐n which address certain aspects of the universe formation and cease. These scattered verses provide valuable information on the successive events regarding origin and ultimate fate of the universe with varying detail. In order to get a clear idea of universe creation or ultimate cease these scattered verses have to be combined and interpreted. The detail study of these scattered verses clearly reveal that the Qur’┐nic concept of apocalypse is perfectly in line with the modern cosmological concept. There are noticeable resemblances between the Qur’┐n revelations and the recent findings in the field of Physics and CosVolume No. 5
