Introduction
International Journal of Library and Information Science (IJLIS) is published from November, 2016, by the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. It is a peer-reviewed bi-annual journal for librarians, information scientists, specialists, managers and educators interested in keeping up to date with the most recent issues and developments in the field. In a profession facing many challenges and a constantly evolving environment, IJLIS publishes papers from practising librarians, information workers and academics which reflect all aspects of librarianship and information technology focusing on the results of research, reports of significant developments in working practices and discussions of concerns central to the information profession. The journal publishes original papers and review articles, viewpoints and book reviews.
Aims and Scope
The objectives of IJLIS is to promote exchange of information and knowledge in research work, new developments in librarianship, information and knowledge management and on utilization of Information Technology towards shaping of an information-rich society. The research trajectories comprise but not limited to library science, technologies, communications and networking, information systems management, information management, records management, library management and knowledge management through scholarly publications. The IJLIS also welcome research contributions on the themes of information behaviour, attitude, perceptions, professional skills, job performance etc. linked with contemporary technological innovations.

Submission Guidelines
Each paper is reviewed by the editor and, if judged suitable for this publication, is then sent to at least one independent referee for double blind peer review. There are no fees payable to submit or publish in this journal. Please note that manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned. Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of IJLIS will be reviewed. Please submit your manuscript to: asadap@uop.edu.pk
Copyright
Articles submitted to IJLIS should not have been published before in their current or substantially similar form, or be under consideration for publication with another journal. Use this in conjunction with the points below about references, before submission i.e. always attribute clearly using either indented text or quote marks as well as making use of the preferred APA style of formatting. Authors submitting articles for publication warrant that the work is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify the publisher against any breach of such warranty. The editor may make use of Turnitin software for checking the originality of submissions received. It must be ensured that you have obtained and can supply all necessary permissions for the reproduction of any copyright works not owned by you.
Manuscript Requirements
1) Article must be written in English.
2) Send a separate file as “Title page” of the article including author(s)' names and affiliations. Full contact details (including email, postal address and a phone and fax numbers) for the corresponding author;
3) Anonymous manuscript (with no authors information)
4) Article length: Articles should be between 1000 and 6000 words in length. This includes all text including references and appendices. Please allow 280 words for each figure or table.
5) Authors’ biographies and acknowledgements: Authors who wish to include these items should send them in a separate file with the manuscript. If they are to be included, a brief professional biography of not more than 100 words should be supplied for each named author.
6) Structured Abstract: Authors must supply a structured abstract, set out under 4-7 sub-headings
· Purpose (mandatory)
· Design/methodology/approach (mandatory)
· Findings (mandatory)
· Research limitations/implications (if applicable)
· Practical implications (if applicable)
· Social implications (if applicable)
· Theoretical implications (if applicable)
· Methodological implications (if applicable)
· Originality/value (mandatory)
· Maximum is 250 words in total (including keywords and article classification, see below).
· Authors should avoid the use of personal pronouns within the structured abstract and body of the paper (e.g. "this paper investigates..." is correct, "I investigate..." is incorrect).
7) Manuscript must include:
· The title of the article.
· A summary or abstract of not more than 150-250 words.
· 3-6 keywords.
· The article in full, including references.
· Figures and Tables (if applicable)
· Figures and tables must be embedded in the main article file.
· Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text.
· Submitted papers must be in Word (.doc, .docx) format.
8) References
· Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association (APA).
