Introduction

International Journal of Library and Information Science (IJLIS) is published from November, 2016, by the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. It is a peer-reviewed bi-annual journal for librarians, information scientists, specialists, managers and educators interested in keeping up to date with the most recent issues and developments in the field.  In a profession facing many challenges and a constantly evolving environment, IJLIS publishes papers from practising librarians, information workers and academics which reflect all aspects of librarianship and information technology focusing on the results of research, reports of significant developments in working practices and discussions of concerns central to the information profession. The journal publishes original papers and review articles, viewpoints and book reviews.

Aims and Scope

The objectives of IJLIS is to promote exchange of information and knowledge in research work, new developments in librarianship, information and knowledge management and on utilization of Information Technology towards shaping of an information-rich society. The research trajectories comprise but not limited to library science, technologies, communications and networking, information systems management, information management, records management, library management and knowledge management through scholarly publications. The IJLIS also welcome research contributions on the themes of information behaviour, attitude, perceptions, professional skills, job performance etc. linked with contemporary technological innovations.
